So you're now kinda interested in getting some new sneakers but you don't know where to start. Today I'll be helping you out on how to pick out sneakers and offer 4 classics to start your collection!

When it comes to picking out sneakers you should find out what you like. The best ways to find out what kinds of sneakers your attracted to is by checking out physical stores or by browsing online stores. The next best way to look for sneakers you might like is to see what other people are wearing. I got started in sneaker collecting by seeing what shoes kids in school and people on the street were wearing which helped me build my sneaker identity.

With that said here are 4 basic silhouettes to start wearing!

1. Converse Chuck Taylor All Star

If you're just getting into sneakers grabbing a pair of classic Chuck Taylor All Star's is a good choice to start. For one it's a simple silhouette that is still as stylish as was in 1917. Converse offers this shoe in numerous colors, materials, and in special editions. More importantly All Star's are priced competitively starting at $55 for the simplest models you see here. Of course there are premium models that use better materials such as suede, waterproofing, and better insoles.

2. Vans Authentic

A Southern California classic the Vans Authentic is another simple silhouette for any beginners rotation. The sneakers come in many different styles, materials, and colors. The simplest models start at $50 and are made of canvas and a rubber sole such as the white pair above. Models with patterns or premium materials such as leather will cost a bit more but they're still affordable options.

3. Nike Blazer

Personally this is my favorite shoe on this list and I own multiple pairs of Blazers. Why? Because the shoe has a simple silhouette and it always gets me compliments. Like the rest of the shoes on this list Blazers come in many different models, editions, materials, and colors. Blazers typically start at $70 and all the way up to $150 for special editions. Personally my favorite materials for Blazers are a woven canvas or a mix of leather and suede like the model above. There's even a model I included below made of cork! Blazers also come in low models which is great.

4. Puma Classic Suede

This is a great choice for something that's more casual than some of the previous sneakers I mentioned. Like it's name the upper is made of a high quality suede with a good insole so they decent for walking. Puma does offer this shoe in a a few different colors, but since it's suede there won't be too many outrageous designs. These sneakers start at $65 for the base model so you can easily grab multiple pairs in different colors.
