Since moving to Los Angeles I've seen lot of men and women wearing fashionable boots. I became interested in boots in 2018 and decided that a great time to start would be now since it's finally getting cold in Southern California and the rain is scheduled to flood our busy streets. For the past year I've been observing the boot trends online and observing what people are wearing on the street and I've noticed that men have killed Chelsea boots.

Now let me explain why men have killed off the Chelsea boot for now. Last winter I saw a lot of guys wearing Chelsea boots on the street. Initially I thought they were not attractive but the more I kept seeing them the look grew on me. However as the months moved into Spring and Summer I kept seeing guys wearing Chelsea boots. I thought they were crazy because it's like super hot and their feet had to be drenched in sweat. Seeing these guys wear them all year round ruined the silhouette for me. The boots look great if your going out at night to a club or anytime when it's cold, but not in the warm spring and summer months. Then I came across a male YouTuber who basically said the same thing as me, that saturation is killing the boot. Plus it doesn't help that too many guys are wearing the boots in the wrong outfits and at the wrong place (such as school). For whatever reason I have not seen an oversaturation of women wearing Chelsea boots

What boots are in Style?

The answer to this question is classic hiking inspired and military inspired boots. The terms are basically interchangeable and are a great option for those interested in getting into boots. Unlike Chelsea boots which are for a specific time, place, and outfit, military and classic hiking boots are more versatile for many different outfits. You can wear them casually during the day or when you'r going out in the evening. They look great on anyone regardless of their height and weight.

Guys can wear these boots with pretty much anything as long as it isn't shorts. It just looks bad when guys wear boots with shorts. Women on the other hand can pull of wearing these kinds of boots with shorts, dresses, and skirts since most women are open to exposing their legs and it looks good with leggings.

Plus these boots are usually more comfortable than Chelsea boots since the insoles are large enough to fit a thick insole. One thing that perspective shoppers should look into are the different kinds of materials used in boots. Some boots are made of leather, synthetics, or some are waterproof and durable. And others are cheap flimsy and uncomfortable. I'm not an expert in boots but from what I know about sneakers is that materials should be considered when purchasing any footwear because you may want something high quality or you might want something cheap.
