What's in my Current Rotation!?

Updated: Dec 11, 2019

And Some Reason's they're In the Rotation

ree

If you've been reading my previous blog posts you may have noticed that I have strong opinions when it comes to footwear so with that in mind I thought I would share with you all my current rotation of sneakers. I want to note that I can't show off my own pictures on some of my sneakers since I forgot them at my permanent home. Oops.

Nike Blazer Mid '77 Sail $100

The first shoe in my current rotation is the Nike Blazer Mid 1977 Sail with a trimmed-suede canvas upper. At the moment these are my only mid top sneakers in my rotation. However I am looking to add a new mid top sneaker but so far nothing has caught my eye. These are my third pair of Blazers and I picked up this pair last spring and I've been wearing them mostly when I go out during the day. Unfortunately I haven't worn them since September since I forgot to bring them with me to Los Angeles. I really like these shoes because of the patterned suede that makes up the shoes upper. If you look at the shoes tongue it features exposed foam which gives off a vintage look like the original model from the 70's! Another aspect that I like about these shoes is the small grey suede bits that cover the toe-cap and the sides of the shoe. They just make the shoe look more cool. Since these are made with suede they cost a bit more than other blazers. They're hot to wear but they're too cool not to show off. I mostly wear these shoes with shorts so they stand out but they do look great with pants. They even have women's sizes for this model!

Puma x Alife Clyde (Blue Depths | White) $100

These are my most striking sneakers at least for now and I like them so much that I usually only wear them on special occasions. If your looking at these they do resemble Puma Classic Suede's but they're a little bit different which makes them better. What makes these sneakers much better than a Puma Suede Classic is that these shoes are a part of a collab with lifestyle clothing brand, Alife. Alife (Artificial Life) is very similar to Supreme brand being that their clothes and shoes have a little box logo and they sell goofy random stuff like mugs with their logo. The Alife logo does make the shoe feel special, but what I really like is the smooth suede and the toe-cap! I really like the toe cap because it's uncommon to see them on sneakers these days. My pair had the blue laces instead of the white ones which I like more. But I've chosen to leave the blue ones on because white laces would get dirty easily.

Mens Nike Blazer Low GT QS 'Supreme' Cannon Gum brown $100*

If you haven't already noticed but I really do love suede! I got these shoes in 2017 off a resell site. Normally Supreme stuff resells high but I actually only paid $30 over the retail of $100. The combination of the gum rubber sole and the blueish suede upper set my desire to get these shoes. They're slightly more comfortable than the '77 blazers and the clyde's since the have a little air bag in the heel for cushion. It really doesn't do much but maybe it helps? Like the '77 blazer the tongue has exposed foam which gives off a vintage look. Unlike my '77 blazers they're really tight so I tie them loosely or I just don't lace them at all and let the laces hang without touching the ground. My pictures make the shoes look really dirty but they aren't. Maybe if I were Instagram filter savvy I could make it look better.

Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Pirate Black by Kanye West $200

The Kanye West Yeezy's are my most unusual sneakers in my rotation because of their looks but mainly because these were one of the most hyped sneakers of 2017. In 2015 rapper Kanye West left Nike to sign an endorsement deal with Adidas. From 2015 to 2017 Adidas once again became a power player in the sneaker industry because of Kanye West's influence. This model released in February of 2017 at the retail price of $200, but because this shoe was a limited release resellers scooped up most of the stock and were reselling them at roughly $500-700. Wow! I was actually one of these resellers and managed to buy 3 pairs. I sold one to my friend for $500 and another pair for $530. The third pair I actually kept for myself just for bragging rights and for two straight years lots of people on the street would compliment my shoes. However since 2017 Adidas has made several other colorways which have lowered the resell value on Yeezys in general so that they aren't rare sneakers anymore. Now I see guys and girls wearing Yeezys all the time and because of the saturation I don't get compliments anymore. In hindsight I should have resold my pair for $700 since my shoe size was worth more than the other two I picked up. While my Yeezys don't have the prestige anymore they're still the most comfortable shoe in my rotation so I'll keep wearing them until they're thrashed.

Pharrell Williams Tennis HU $80

Another trend you may have noticed from my rotation is that I like sneakers that have a simple silhouette and a minimalist look. I like these kinds of shoes because they go well with any outfit and these sneakers are no exception. I got these shoes in late 2017 and for a while I rarely wore them because I didn't want to get them dirty. Of course accidents happen and they got dirty, but since the shoe's upper is made of mesh I soaked them in beach and threw them in the washer and they came out a clean as they were when I got them. These are versatile for many occasions and I even wear them for formal events. They're flimsy and have no cushion but they come in several colors that look good on guys and girls.

Timberland Port Union Waterproof Boots $190*

While these timbs aren't sneakers they are my newest footwear in my rotation. They are my first pair of boots and I decided last winter when it was raining all the time that I needed to get some kind of waterproof shoe because the rain kept soaking my feet and I got sick of it. When it was raining I saw some people wearing boots like these and their feet were dry. So I decided that I needed to get boots too! I had my eye on these boots for most of 2019 but the retail price was hard to stomach. So I decided that I would wait for a good sale and luckily for Black Friday these were on sale for $106 so I jumped on the sale and bought a pair online. I'm getting them in the mail this week so I'll get to test them in the rain since the forecast says that rain is expect for me in the coming days. So I'll be sure to test the waterproofing in the coming days. Besides the waterproofing I like how these boots are slim and have a simple silhouette. They look good and look comfortable but I'll have to thoroughly test them out.
